HeartCode ACLS Skills Testing Course

Course offered: Feb. 22, June 17, Aug. 19, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Pen Bay Physicians Building on the campus of Penobscot Bay Medical Center. February class is in the library conference room. June and August classes are in Conference Room D.
This course is for non-Pen Bay Healthcare employees unless previously arranged between the employees manager and the course coordinator.
This course is offered for the healthcare professional who has completed Part 1 of the HeartCode ACLS online interactive program. It allows for skills practice (Part 2) and completion of the skills test (Part 3) with a certified AHA Instructor using a high fidelity human patient simulator.
Students must bring proper documentation of successful online course completion to the skills testing session. Skills testing must be completed within 60 calendar days of completing the computer-based portion indicated as the completion date on the certificate.
Students must bring current BLS Health Care Provider card.
Skills testing usually lasts about an hour.
Course Completion Requirements
1. Successful completion of all core cases.
2. Achievement of 84 percent or greater on the written test.
3. Successful completion of the required CPR skills test administered by an AHA ACLS Instructor.
4. Megacode skills test.
Successful completion of all three parts meets the requirements for the issuing of an American Heart Association ACLS provider card.
