What is pulmonary Rehabilitation?
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a program, of education, exercise training and peer support to help patients with chronic lung disease control symptoms, become more active and have a better quality of life.

  • Improve your ability to breathe
  • Improve your quality of life
  • Learn more about your lung disease
  • Learn how to control and decrease shortness of breath
  • Increase your ability to do everyday activities
  • Increase your tolerance for exercise to help you feel better and become stronger
  • Learn how to take care of yourself to prevent infection
  • Learn to become more independent and less isolated
  • Learn how to cope with the stress of living with chronic lung disease
  • Decrease your need for emergency room and doctor visits

Program requirements

  • Physician referral required
  • COPD or any other chronic lung condition
  • Smoke free
  • You must be motivated and committed
  • Your cardiac function should be stable
  • You should have the ability to understand and retain information

    Our team is multi-disciplinary and consists of respiratory therapists, nurses, exercise specialists, dieticians, occupational and physical therapists and other healthcare professionals.
