Learn How Physiatry Can Add Life To Your Years:
Dr. Alan Ross to give free presentations November 13 & 20
Alan Ross, MD, will present a free two-part series on physiatry, a branch of medicine that deals with physical rehabilitation, at Pen Bay Healthcare’s Picker Family Resource Center. The first presentation, “Rehabilitation Medicine: Adding Life to Your Years,” will be held on Wednesday, November 13, from 6 – 7 p.m., followed by “Osteopathic Manipulation: A Timeless Healing Art” from 6 – 7 p.m. on November 20.
In his November 13 presentation, Ross will talk about how physiatry helps many kinds of health issues, including pain management and muscle, bone and nerve problems. The focus of this presentation will be how physiatry can improve patients’ quality of life.
On November 20, Ross will discuss how stress is stored in the body and how osteopathic manipulation can be used to improve areas of tension and restriction to help the body function at its best.

Alan Ross, MD, has practiced pain rehabilitation in Augusta for 16 years and recently opened a part-time office in Rockport. He completed specialty training in physiatry/rehabilitation medicine at the University of Michigan and is a graduate of Columbia Medical School in New York City.
