Trenholm Named President of Maine Society Directors of Healthcare Volunteer Services
Pen Bay Healthcare announces that Judi Trenholm, director of volunteer services for Pen Bay Medical Center, has been elected president of the Maine Society Directors of Healthcare Volunteer Services (MSDHVS) for a two-year term. MSDHVS is a statewide organization that exists to enhance the quality of volunteer services in Maine healthcare organizations by providing networking support, professional and educational opportunities and an exchange of ideas and information on volunteer programs. The Society membership includes 25 healthcare volunteer administrators throughout the state of Maine.
Trenholm has been an active member of MSDHVS for seven years. In 2011, Trenholm received the Society’s DOVE Award which recognizes a director of volunteers who demonstrates leadership qualities at the local, state, regional or national levels, and in the management and use of volunteers in his or her institution. She is also a member of the New England and national associations for volunteer professionals.
“I am honored and excited to serve the MSDHVS,” said Trenholm. “Being a member of this outstanding organization has helped me grow both professionally and personally. The experience, expertise, camaraderie and willingness to share among the members is of immense value and what makes the group so vital and successful.”
“Judi has always been an advocate for volunteer programs, both within Pen Bay Healthcare and the professional associations that she is a member of,” said Tom Girard, senior regional director of Human Resources. “All of us at Pen Bay are very proud of Judi and her accomplishments and applaud her for this well-deserved honor.”
