Program Aims to Help Older Adults Avoid Falling
Adults age 55-plus can learn how to improve their balance and avoid injurious falls by attending the free program “Balance and Falls,” on Monday, December 17, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon at the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill in Camden. The event is part of Quarry Hill’s “Going Strong” series of educational programs devoted to topics in senior health.
Specialists from Pen Bay Healthcare's Rehabilitation Services will offer simple exercises as well as household strategies that can significantly reduce the likelihood of falling. The program takes its cue from recent Centers for Disease Control statistics that points to falls as the leading cause of injury and death among seniors.
There is no fee to attend. Seating is limited, and registration is required. To reserve seats or to inquire about subsequent events in the Going Strong series, call Quarry Hill at 230-6114 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
