Penobscot Bay Medical Center's Sixth Annual
Happy Birthday Baby Party to be Held on Aug. 23
Activities, car seat checks, 'swap shop' featured

The sixth annual Happy Birthday Baby Party will be held at Penobscot Bay Medical Center on Sunday, Aug. 23, from 1 to 3 p.m. on the front lawn of the hospital. All Midcoast families with babies born or adopted in the past year are invited, regardless of whether the baby was born at PBMC.

PBMC holds this event to celebrate the first year of a baby's life as well as to celebrate the skilled, dedicated people who provide services and care to women and their families. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket so they can sit outside and enjoy the party in comfort.

There will be fun family games—including the Diaper Dash—a photo booth, healthy snacks and birthday cake. A panel of providers will speak with families about water safety, nutrition, age-appropriate play, sleep habits, nurturing routines, saving for baby's future, and more. Car seat checks will also be available.

A "swap shop" for gently used baby supplies will give parents a chance to exchange toys, laundered clothes and other baby items. This event is also a great way to get to know other new moms and dads.
