Parkinson's Disease Support Group Summer Schedule 2009

The Parkinson's Disease Support Group at Quarry Hill Retirement Community in Camden meets on the first Tuesday of each month, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill. Participation is free and open to all those with Parkinson's disease, their caregivers, and other interested persons.

Tuesday, July 7: The group will hold its Fifth Annual Indoor BBQ Picnic and Social. For $3 per person (payable at the door), Quarry Hill will supply hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, and condiments. Please register to attend by calling Suzanne Miller at 230-6224 no later than Friday, July 3.

Tuesday, Aug. 4: Guest presenter Karen Searls, NCTMB, will discuss and demonstrate Jin Shin Jyutsu self-help practices. Jin Shin Jyutsu is the ancient art of harmonizing the life energy in the body as a means of releasing tensions and promoting health and healing.

Tuesday, Sept. 1: Participants will celebrate the support group's fifth anniversary with cake and ice cream—and the possible unveiling of a portable Parkinson's Resource Library.

For more information, please call Quarry Hill health services coordinator Suzanne Miller, RN, BSN, CCM, at 230-6224.
