Pen Bay Waldoboro Family Medicine Welcomes Staff

Waldoboro Family Medicine nurse practitioners, Laurel Reever and Nichole Kelly

Waldoboro Family Medicine is accepting new patients and would like to introduce board-certified, family nurse practitioners Laurel Reever, FNP and Nichole Kelly, FNP to the Midcoast community.

Laurel Reever's career in medicine began in Pennsylvania where she worked in the level 2 trauma center at Lancaster General Hospital after receiving her nursing degree from York College. She received her master's degree in nursing at University of Southern Maine specializing in family practice. With rotation experience in orthopaedics, general surgery, emergency medicine and women's health, Reever notes, "I like seeing a variety of patients, ages and problems. Family medicine seemed like a natural transition."

Reever's approach to medicine is straight forward and practical. As a family nurse practitioner, she says, "I believe medical practice is a partnership between the provider and the patient. I emphasize patient education and patient participation in their healthcare decisions."

She now enjoys the coastal Maine lifestyle with access to beaches and mountains all within a short drive. Reever's hobbies include having fun with her children and family and hiking with her three dogs.

Nichole Kelly, a current resident and native of Brunswick Maine, received her undergraduate degree from Colby College and master's degree in nursing from University of Southern Maine. She has provided family care for the past eleven years and particularly enjoys treating adolescents to promote wellness to this age group. "I have met an incredibly diverse group of patients in my years working in Waldoboro," says Kelly.

Active in fitness training and a competitive runner in marathons, Kelly coaches youth cross country and teaches fitness classes at the local gym. Kelly adds, "I love Midcoast Maine because of the natural beauty and proximity to my extended family. It is a great place to raise children and to practice."

Both Reever and Kelly are certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Waldoboro Family Medicine is located at 27 Mill St., Waldoboro. For more information, call 832-5291 or visit them online at pbmc.org/waldoboro.
